Image optimization
Cloud WebP/AVIF conversion for WordPress uploads, delivered via img.cacherocket.com/wp/.
Cloud image optimization converts new WordPress uploads into modern formats and serves them from Managed CDN. Enable it under Media in the Cache Rocket WordPress plugin when your plan includes image optimization.
Formats by plan

Exact numbers are shown on Account → Subscription and the public pricing page.
How a job runs
- Upload an image in WordPress — With cloud image optimization enabled and API keys connected, the plugin queues a job.
- Cache Rocket processes the file — The image may be resized and encoded to WebP and/or AVIF according to your entitlements.
- Stored and rewritten — The result is stored on the image CDN. When ready, front-end markup points at

WARNING: Quotas hard-stop new work
When the monthly image-optimization quota or CDN bandwidth is exhausted, new jobs do not start until the period resets or you upgrade.

Common questions
Will it rewrite my whole media library overnight?
No. Optimization targets new uploads when enabled. Existing attachments are not bulk-migrated automatically.
What if AVIF is not in my plan?
WebP still applies on Starter+. Upgrade to Pro or Business for AVIF preference.
Does disabling the feature delete CDN files?
Yes. Disabling cloud image optimization removes that site’s related optimized objects from Managed CDN storage.
